The Atlas® TC229LH rim-clamp swing arm tire changer is built for small commercial garages, home workshops, and ATV or motorcycle dealers that want more control when working with modern passenger and light-truck tires.
This model is based on the TC229 platform, using an electric turntable, air-operated bead breaker, and a rim-clamp jaw system with three adjustable positions to handle a wide range of wheel sizes. The bead breaker is positioned for strong, controlled separation of even heavily seated or corroded beads, while the built-in beadblaster helps seat stiff tires during inflation. Protective jaw covers and a guarded mount/demount head help reduce the risk of damaging alloy wheels during service. External air supply is required for operation.
The main upgrade in the TC229LH is the left-hand assist arm system. This assist arm adds a pressing block and pressing/lifting disk that functions as an extra point of controlled pressure during tire mounting and demounting. In practical use, it helps guide the tire bead over the rim more smoothly, especially on low-profile and stiffer sidewall tires. It reduces the physical effort required from the operator and improves control during more difficult tire installations.
The Atlas TC229LH Tire Changer is a practical fit for users who need occasional assistance but do not require a full dual-assist setup. It’s especially useful for shops that see a mix of standard passenger vehicles and occasional run-flat or performance tires, as well as motorcycle and ATV service work (with optional adapters).
Like the rest of the lineup, it operates on 110V power, requires external air supply, and includes a 1-year parts-only warranty.
