The Atlas® TC289DAA rim-clamp swing arm tire changer is built for service departments, medium-sized tire shops, and farm operations that regularly work with larger wheels and more demanding tire types, including low-profile and run-flat applications.
At its core, it uses the TC289 platform, which is designed around a larger turntable and increased clearance to handle oversized SUV and one-ton truck wheels more comfortably. The extra working space makes it easier to manage wide rims and heavier assemblies compared to smaller tire machines. It includes a built-in beadblaster to help seat stiff or difficult tires during inflation, and an adjustable bead breaker plate that improves control when breaking stubborn or corroded beads. The rim-clamp system uses three adjustable jaw positions and protective covers to help reduce rim damage during clamping and demounting. External air supply is required for operation.
The defining upgrade on this model is the dual assist arm system. One arm is equipped with a pressing block and lifting/pressing disk, while the other includes a bead roller and pressing/lifting disk. Together, they act as an additional set of controlled hands, reducing the physical effort required when mounting and demounting stiff sidewall, low-profile, or run-flat tires. In practical use, this improves speed, consistency, and safety for a single operator, especially in higher-volume environments.
The Atlas TC289DAA Tire Changer is well suited for shops that need to handle a wide mix of tire types on a daily basis, from standard passenger vehicles to larger trucks and SUVs. Motorcycle and ATV adapters are available separately for expanded capability.
Like the rest of the lineup, it runs on 110V power, requires external air supply, includes a built-in beadblaster system, and is backed by a 1-year parts-only warranty.
