The BelAire 318HL is a 7.5 HP two-stage air compressor designed for shops that need substantial compressed-air capacity but only have single-phase electrical service. Its 80-gallon horizontal ASME receiver provides reserve air for overlapping tool demands, while the belt-driven pump reaches 175 PSI and uses a cast iron cylinder sleeve. The motor can be configured for 208V or 230V single-phase power, and a factory-installed magnetic starter provides motor switching and overload protection. BelAire recommends a 60 Amp breaker, so confirm your panel capacity and electrical requirements with a qualified electrician before ordering.
The combination of a two-stage pump and large receiver helps the compressor handle periods of higher demand without relying entirely on continuous motor operation. When several pneumatic tools draw air at once, stored air in the 80-gallon tank can supplement the pump and help reduce pressure swings. The belt-driven design keeps the pump separate from motor speed, while the oil sight glass provides a quick way to monitor lubrication. A fully enclosed high-flow belt guard protects the drive components while allowing cooling airflow around the pump. Published airflow data is inconsistent: available sources list 22.3 CFM at 100 PSI and 25.3 CFM at 100 PSI, so customers sizing the compressor around a specific continuous-demand tool should confirm the current factory rating before purchase.
The 318HL is suited to independent automotive and body shops, agricultural workshops, tire and quick-service operations, and serious home garages that do not have three-phase power. Its horizontal tank measures approximately 71" long, 24" wide, and 49" high, making it useful beneath low ceilings or overhead obstructions where a vertical receiver would not fit. At roughly 538 lbs, it requires a solid, level installation surface with adequate space around the pump for cooling and maintenance. An air dryer is not included; BelAire recommends the CPXHT25 separately for applications requiring additional air treatment.

Certification, Stated Plainly
The receiver is built and stamped to the ASME pressure-vessel code and carries a safety valve. That is a genuine, verifiable claim about the tank, and it is the claim BelAire makes.
We do not hold a North American third-party electrical safety listing from an accredited testing laboratory for this machine, and a pressure-vessel code stamp does not stand in for one. They are different documents assessing different risks. Some insurers, corporate facility policies and local electrical inspectors require the electrical listing specifically. If yours is likely to, settle that question before you order and ask us in writing rather than assuming. We would rather answer the question than have the machine fail an inspection in your building.
Freight and Receiving
This is a freight shipment to the lower 48 states, not a parcel. Freight is included, so there is nothing to add at checkout.
Plan for unloading: you will need a forklift or loading dock, or you can collect the pallet from the carrier's terminal. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee.
Inspect before signing. Check the skid for movement, the tank ends for dents, the belt guard for distortion and the deck for oil. Record anything you find on the delivery paperwork and photograph it before the driver leaves. A clean signature is very difficult to challenge later.
Warranty
A 2-Year bumper-to-bumper factory warranty covers the machine, with no additional purchase required. Record the serial number when you uncrate it and keep it with the invoice.
Do not take the pump, motor or pressure switch apart before a claim is opened. Disassembling a component before inspection can jeopardize coverage. Report the fault first.
Then follow the manufacturer's oil interval, check belt tension after the first weeks of operation, and drain the tank regularly. On this model, the drain is manual, so receiver drainage is part of routine maintenance.
