The BelAire 318VL 7.5 HP combines a belt-driven two-stage cast-iron pump with an 80-gallon vertical receiver rated to 175 PSI, while using a footprint of approximately 39" × 24". The vertical design keeps valuable shop floor space available for vehicles, benches, and walkways, while the 208–230V single-phase motor makes this compressor suitable for facilities without three-phase service. A factory-installed magnetic starter provides motor overload protection. Note: published overall height figures differ between sources, so confirm the exact height and required ceiling clearance before ordering; the machine weighs approximately 479 lbs.
The two-stage pump uses solid cast iron construction and stainless steel valves for a serviceable design intended for regular shop use. Compressing air in two stages allows the pump to reach its 175 PSI maximum working pressure, while the belt drive separates the motor from the pump and provides a straightforward arrangement for maintenance. The vertical receiver also makes routine checks easier, with the oil sight glass and pressure controls positioned within practical reach. This model uses a manual tank drain, so condensate must be removed by the operator rather than automatically. Regular draining is important because moisture collects in the receiver during normal compression and can eventually reach downstream air lines and equipment.
This compressor is a good fit for small and mid-sized automotive shops, two-bay service facilities, home garages, and collector garages where floor space is limited and only single-phase power is available. Its compact base can fit against a wall or into a corner without consuming the long section of floor required by a horizontal receiver. Before installation, confirm that your electrical panel can support the recommended 60-amp circuit, have a qualified electrician verify the actual electrical requirements, and provide a flat, solid floor with enough clearance around the pump for service. With its tall vertical profile, adequate overhead space is just as important as the compact footprint.

One Figure We Will Not Publish
We do not have a delivered-air rating for the 318VL that we are confident enough to print. Our sources state the airflow figure inconsistently, and this is exactly the specification buyers use to size their tools.
Rather than publish a figure that may be wrong, we have left it out. If delivered air at 100 PSI is decisive for you, ask us and we will obtain the manufacturer's rating in writing before you order. Everything else on this page comes directly from the manufacturer's specification for this model.
Certification, Honestly
The receiver is an ASME-certified vessel, and BelAire states that it is 100% factory tested at full pressure. These are specific claims about the tank.
We do not hold documentation for a North American third-party electrical safety listing from an accredited testing laboratory for this machine. That is separate from pressure-vessel certification and covers the electrical side of the equipment. If your insurer, facility policy or local inspector requires a specific listing, establish the requirement and ask us before ordering so we can confirm what documentation is available.
Delivery
Ships by freight within the lower 48 states, with the cost quoted live at checkout for your delivery address.
Arrange unloading in advance. You will need a forklift or loading dock, or you can choose terminal pickup. Residential delivery is available and carries an additional fee.
Because the unit ships upright on a skid, inspect it carefully on arrival. Check for tipping or shifting, tank dents, belt-guard damage and oil on the pallet. Record any damage on the delivery paperwork and photograph it before the driver leaves.
Warranty
The 318VL carries a 2-Year factory warranty. Keep your invoice and record the serial number when the machine is uncrated.
If a fault develops, contact us before dismantling the pump, motor or pressure switch. The manufacturer may need to inspect the affected component in its failed condition. Report the problem first, document it with photographs, and follow the manufacturer's warranty instructions.
Continue with the recommended oil, belt-tension and tank-draining maintenance from the start of ownership.
