The BelAire 338H4 is a 5 HP two-stage air compressor built for facilities with 460V three-phase power, using an 80-gallon horizontal ASME tank and a factory-installed magnetic starter. Its main advantage is electrical: BelAire recommends a 15 Amp breaker for the 460V configuration, making this version particularly practical where that service is already available. The belt-driven pump includes stainless steel valves and an aftercooler, while the horizontal receiver keeps the overall height to approximately 49 inches. Note: this model is intended for 460V three-phase service, so confirm your available electrical supply before ordering.
The two-stage pump compresses air in two steps with cooling between stages, allowing the compressor to reach 175 PSI while maintaining 18.5 CFM at 100 PSI and 16.6 CFM at 175 PSI. The integrated aftercooler lowers discharge temperature before compressed air enters the receiver, encouraging moisture to condense in the tank rather than travel downstream toward air tools. Stainless steel valves are used within the pump, and an oil sight glass makes routine level checks straightforward. BelAire's published pump-construction details are inconsistent, however, with one specification identifying solid cast iron and another describing aluminum with a cast iron sleeve, so confirm the exact construction if it is important to your application.
The 338H4 is well suited to industrial buildings, manufacturing and fabrication shops, fleet garages, and municipal facilities that already have 460V three-phase service. Its horizontal configuration is particularly useful in workshops with limited ceiling height, including spaces beneath mezzanines, ductwork, or overhead doors. The approximately 71" × 24" footprint requires more floor length than a vertical receiver, but it keeps the pump, sight glass, drain, and belt guard at convenient working height. An air dryer, filtration, regulation, and shop plumbing are not included.

Certification, Stated Plainly
The tank is an ASME-certified pressure vessel fitted with an ASME safety relief valve. This certification applies to the receiver, which is rated for 175 PSI.
No third-party safety listing is claimed for the complete packaged machine in the data we hold, so we will not imply one. If your insurer, corporate facility standard or local electrical inspector requires an independent listing for hard-wired shop equipment, tell us before ordering and we will confirm the available documentation with BelAire in writing.
Delivery, Unloading & Damage
Ships by palletized freight throughout the lower 48 states, with freight included.
Plan unloading before delivery. You will need a forklift, loading dock or pallet jack with a suitable level surface. Terminal pickup is an alternative if you prefer to collect it yourself. Residential deliveries carry an additional fee.
Inspect before signing. Check the crate, tank, pump and guards for damage. Record any issues on the bill of lading with the driver present and photograph them before accepting the shipment.
Warranty
BelAire provides a 2-Year factory warranty for consumer and commercial use, with no additional purchase required.
If the pump develops a problem, do not disassemble it before opening a warranty claim. Keep the compressor intact so the manufacturer can assess the failure. Contact us first and we will help start the claim.
