The BelAire 338V is a 5 HP two-stage air compressor built for 208-230V three-phase service, with an 80-gallon vertical ASME tank and a magnetic starter included. Its key design focus is heat management: the pump uses solid cast iron cylinders with aluminum heads, while an aftercooler reduces discharge temperature before compressed air reaches the receiver. The compressor reaches 175 PSI maximum pressure and carries a 2-year factory warranty. Note: published airflow figures at 175 PSI conflict, so confirm the exact full-pressure CFM rating if it is critical to your application.
The pump's mixed-metal construction and cooling system have a practical purpose beyond component design. Cast iron cylinders provide durability where the pump experiences the most wear, while aluminum heads help move heat away from the compression area. The two-stage process also cools air between compression stages before the second compression step, reducing thermal stress as pressure increases. The pump-mounted aftercooler continues that cooling before air enters the tank, encouraging moisture to condense in the receiver rather than travel through the air lines. The belt-driven, splash-lubricated pump also runs slower than the motor, helping manage operating temperature and mechanical wear. An oil sight glass makes routine level checks straightforward.
This compressor is suited to busy independent automotive shops, body and paint operations, and light industrial or production work with available three-phase power. The vertical 80-gallon tank provides substantial air storage while using less floor space than a horizontal receiver, making the 338V useful where floor area matters more than ceiling height. It is particularly appropriate for shops that need steady compressed air and want the added thermal management of an aftercooler and two-stage pump. Because there is no integrated air dryer, applications such as spray finishing should include appropriate downstream air treatment.

Certification, Stated Plainly
The receiver is an ASME tank—designed, welded and inspected to the American pressure-vessel code, and supplied with a matching safety relief valve.
That is certification of the pressure vessel, not a third-party safety listing for the complete electrical machine. Some insurers, plant safety policies and local jurisdictions require the latter. If yours does, ask us in writing before ordering and we will confirm the available documentation in writing.
Shipping & Delivery
Ships by freight to the lower 48 states, not as a parcel. The crate carries a 457 lb machine standing 77" tall. Freight is quoted live at checkout for your delivery address. Residential delivery carries an additional fee; terminal pickup is available as an alternative.
Plan unloading before the truck arrives. You will need a forklift, loading dock or other suitable equipment to safely remove the crate.
When it arrives, inspect the shroud, belt guard, gauges and tank with the driver present. Record any damage on the delivery paperwork and photograph the shipment before signing.
Warranty
The listing states a 2-Year factory warranty for both consumer and commercial use, with the full warranty document available on this page.
If something fails, do not disassemble the pump, starter or pressure switch before opening the claim. The manufacturer may need to inspect the failed component in its original condition. Stop using the machine, photograph the problem, and contact us so we can begin the warranty process.
