The BelAire 338VE Elite Series combines 5 HP, 16.6 CFM at 175 PSI and an 80-gallon vertical tank in a 208–230V three-phase configuration. Its standout feature is the use of stainless steel valves with a solid cast-iron two-stage pump, giving the reciprocating assembly added resistance to the heat, moisture and repeated cycling found in demanding shop service. A triple-pass pump-mounted aftercooler further manages discharge temperature before compressed air reaches the receiver. The factory-installed magnetic starter provides motor overload protection. Note: the compressor measures approximately 39" × 24" × 77" and weighs 453 lbs, so verify ceiling clearance, access and floor conditions before installation.
The two-stage design compresses air in a larger first cylinder, cools it between stages, then compresses it again in the high-pressure cylinder. That interstage cooling helps control operating temperatures as the pump reaches its 175 PSI maximum pressure, while the triple-pass aftercooler reduces the temperature of the air leaving the pump so more moisture can condense before entering the shop’s air system. The stainless steel valves are particularly important in this environment because they repeatedly cycle through hot, moisture-laden compressed air. A low-oil switch and oil sight glass provide additional protection and make routine oil-level checks straightforward. The vertical tank also keeps the floor footprint compact, making better use of limited shop space.
This compressor is designed for commercial automotive shops, body and paint operations, and other professional facilities with 208–230V three-phase power and regular compressed-air demand. It is especially useful where floor space is limited but sufficient overhead clearance is available for a 77" vertical receiver. BelAire recommends a 30-amp breaker, while actual electrical requirements should be verified by a certified electrician based on the installation and local code. The source information gives conflicting descriptions of the tank drain, listing both automatic and manual versions, so confirm the drain type before ordering if automatic condensate removal is important to your setup. An air dryer is not included.

Certification, Plainly
The receiver is an ASME-certified pressure vessel, and BelAire states that it is tested at full pressure at the factory. These claims apply to the tank.
No North American third-party electrical safety listing from an accredited testing laboratory is recorded for the complete compressor. That is separate from pressure-vessel certification and concerns the motor, starter and control wiring. If your insurer, facility standard or local inspector requires an independent electrical listing, confirm the requirement with us before ordering. We will verify the available documentation with BelAire in writing.
Delivery
Ships free throughout the lower 48 states.
Plan unloading before delivery. You will need a forklift or loading dock, or you can choose terminal pickup. Residential delivery is available for an additional fee.
Because the compressor ships upright, inspect it for tipping or shifting, as well as tank dents, belt-guard damage and any oil or fluid on the trailer deck. Record damage on the delivery paperwork and take photographs before signing.
Warranty
A 2-Year full factory warranty applies. Record the serial number after uncrating and keep it with your invoice.
If a problem develops, do not disassemble the pump, motor or pressure switch before opening a warranty claim. Contact us first so the manufacturer can evaluate the component intact.
Follow the manufacturer's maintenance schedule, including oil changes, belt-tension checks and receiver draining.
