The BelAire 338VL4 combines 7.5 HP performance with a space-saving vertical design and 460V three-phase power. Its 80-gallon ASME receiver stands upright, keeping the footprint to approximately 39" × 24" instead of occupying a long stretch of wall. Electrically, BelAire recommends a 20 Amp breaker, making this configuration a practical choice for facilities that already have 460V three-phase service and want to minimize circuit requirements. The compressor uses a belt-driven two-stage pump with a cast iron cylinder sleeve, aluminum heads, and an aftercooler, while a factory-installed magnetic starter provides motor switching and overload protection. Note: this model requires 460V three-phase power, so confirm your electrical service before ordering.
The two-stage pump and aftercooler work together to manage heat and moisture. Air is compressed in two stages to support a maximum pressure of 175 PSI, while the aftercooler reduces discharge temperature before the air reaches the tank. That helps moisture condense in the receiver rather than continuing downstream into your air system. The splash-lubricated pump includes an oil sight glass for routine checks, and the fully enclosed high-flow belt guard protects the drive without restricting cooling airflow. Published airflow figures for this model differ, with available sources listing 18.5 CFM at 100 PSI and 22.3 CFM at an unclear or conflicting rating pressure, so customers sizing the compressor for continuous-demand equipment should confirm the required CFM and pressure before ordering.
The 338VL4 is built for industrial shops, plant rooms, and commercial facilities with existing 460V three-phase distribution. It is particularly useful where floor space and panel capacity are both limited, while the vertical tank makes efficient use of a corner or compressor room. At approximately 77" tall and 467 lbs, buyers should confirm ceiling clearance, the delivery route, and a level, solid installation surface before purchase. The 3/4" tank outlet connects to downstream shop piping. An air dryer is not included; BelAire recommends the CPXHT25 separately for applications requiring additional moisture control.

Certification, Stated Without Gloss
The receiver is built and stamped to the ASME pressure-vessel code and carries a safety valve. That is the certification claimed here: it concerns the tank, and it is verifiable.
What we do not hold for this unit is a North American third-party electrical safety listing from an accredited testing laboratory. That type of listing covers the motor, starter and control wiring—areas a pressure-vessel code stamp says nothing about. The two are not interchangeable.
Insurers, corporate facility standards and local electrical inspectors sometimes require an electrical listing by name. If there is any chance yours does, settle the question with us in writing before you order rather than after installation.
Delivery
Freight to the lower 48 states, priced live at checkout against your actual delivery address.
Plan the unload in advance: you will need a forklift or loading dock at the delivery point, or you can choose terminal pickup and collect it yourself. Residential delivery is available and carries a residential fee.
Because the compressor ships standing tall, inspect the crate for lean or tipping as well as the usual transit damage—dents in the tank ends, a distorted guard or oil on the deck. Note any damage on the delivery paperwork and photograph it while the driver is still there. Damage discovered after a clean signature is very difficult to claim.
Warranty
A 2-Year bumper-to-bumper factory warranty covers all components, with no additional purchase required. Record the serial number when the machine is uncrated and keep it with your invoice.
Do not disassemble the pump, motor or pressure switch before opening a claim. Taking a component apart to prove it failed is one of the easiest ways to jeopardize coverage. Report the fault first.
Then follow the manufacturer's oil-change interval, recheck belt tension after the first weeks of operation, and drain the tank daily while there is still pressure behind the water.
