The BelAire 4916V is a 5 HP, 230V single-phase compressor built around a 60-gallon vertical ASME tank and a solid cast iron, belt-driven pump. Its main advantage is height: at just 69.7 inches tall, it can fit where taller vertical compressors cannot, making it particularly useful in garages with low joists, door tracks, conduit, or suspended ceilings. The pump delivers approximately 16 CFM at 100 PSI and 14 CFM at maximum pressure, with a 165 PSI maximum. Note: the source lists conflicting information on whether the pump is single-stage or two-stage and gives slightly different 100 PSI airflow figures, so confirm the factory configuration before ordering.
The compressor uses stainless steel valves, cast iron construction, and belt drive for a practical combination of serviceability and heat management. The belt allows the pump to operate separately from the motor speed, while the cast iron pump helps handle the heat generated during compression. A 60-gallon receiver provides reserve capacity for tools used in bursts, helping reduce frequent cycling during intermittent work. The system uses splash lubrication with an oil level sight glass, but there is no aftercooler or dryer, so moisture control and downstream air treatment need to be handled separately.
With dimensions of 22.9" × 27.2" × 69.7" and a 250-lb weight, the 4916V is a practical choice for low-ceiling home garages, basement workshops, and small trade shops with a suitable 230V single-phase circuit. It works well for impact tools, ratchets, blow guns, and other intermittent air applications. It is less suited to continuous-demand equipment such as large sanders or media blasters, where a 5 HP compressor and 60-gallon tank can be pushed to their limits. A 40-amp circuit is specified; have an electrician verify the electrical requirements before installation.
Certification, Stated Plainly
The tank carries the American pressure-vessel code stamp and includes a matching safety relief valve. That certification applies to the vessel—how it was designed, welded and inspected—and is not the same as a third-party safety listing for the complete electrical machine.
If your insurer or local jurisdiction requires a listed assembly, ask us to confirm the available documentation in writing before ordering.
Shipping & Delivery
Ships by freight to the lower 48 states, not by parcel carrier. At 250 lbs and 69.7" tall, this is one of the easier machines in the range to receive.
Freight is included. Residential delivery carries an additional fee, while terminal pickup is an alternative.
Plan unloading before delivery. You will need a loading dock, forklift or suitable hoist and enough help to safely remove the crate.
Inspect before signing. Check the shroud, belt guard, gauges, tank shell and pallet with the driver present. Record any damage on the delivery paperwork and photograph it before accepting the shipment.
Warranty
The published warranty term is 2 years, with the warranty document available on this page.
If a component fails, do not disassemble it before opening a claim. Keep the failed component intact so the manufacturer can inspect it. Contact us first and we will help start the claim.
