The Chicago Pneumatic QRS15HP-150 BM is a 15 HP base-mounted rotary screw compressor built for shops that already have compressed-air storage or want to locate the compressor and receiver separately. Unlike a tank-mounted package, this unit supplies the airend, motor, controls, and enclosure without a receiver, allowing you to connect it to an existing tank or build a system around a separately located receiver. It delivers 51 CFM at up to 150 PSI, runs on 208–230/460V three-phase power, and is rated for 100% duty, making it suitable for continuous operation. At approximately 45 inches long and 408 lbs, the base-mount design is also easier to position in plant rooms, mezzanines, and other spaces where a large tank-mounted compressor would be difficult to install.
The key advantage is flexibility. A shop expanding an existing compressed-air system can add production capacity without buying and accommodating another receiver. The QRS15HP-150 BM uses load/no-load control with timed shutdown, responding to changing air demand without requiring constant manual operation. When demand stops, the compressor unloads and shuts down after the programmed idle period. Service is also simplified with spin-on oil and air/oil separator filters, allowing routine maintenance without major disassembly. With a published noise level of 69 dBA, the rotary screw design also operates quietly enough for many commercial work environments.
This compressor is a practical choice for shops adding capacity to an existing air system, facilities installing multiple compressors on a shared receiver, and buildings where the compressor and air storage need to be located separately. It also suits plant rooms, mezzanines, and installations with difficult access routes. Because this is a base-mounted unit, a receiver, air dryer, downstream filtration, and connecting pipework must be planned separately. It is designed for buyers who need continuous-duty compressed air but want the freedom to configure the rest of the system around their building rather than around a factory-mounted tank.

Approvals, Stated Plainly
The approval recorded for this machine applies to the control panel: UL, cUL and CSA, housed in a NEMA 1 enclosure. That is an electrical approval for the control equipment, not a certification of the complete compressor package.
Because this build is supplied without a receiver, there is no pressure vessel included with the machine. Any pressure-vessel registration, inspection or documentation required by your insurer, inspector or plant safety program will apply to the receiver you install.
If you are purchasing a receiver from us as part of the installation, tell us what documentation you require before ordering. We will confirm the available manufacturer documentation before the order is placed.
Shipping and Delivery
Ships by palletized freight to the lower 48 states, with the shipping cost quoted live at checkout based on your delivery address.
Without a tank, this is easier to handle than a fully assembled receiver-mounted compressor, but it remains a freight shipment. Plan for a forklift, loading dock or terminal pickup. Residential deliveries may include an additional residential fee.
Inspect the shipment before signing. Check the enclosure panels, cooler fins and base rails, and record any visible damage on the bill of lading while the driver is present. Take photographs before the shipment is accepted.
Warranty
The standard warranty is 1 year. A 5-year warranty is available when the machine is commissioned through a factory-authorized start-up, typically costing approximately $350.
The commissioning fee is not necessarily fixed, so confirm the current cost before scheduling service. For a base-mount installation, professional commissioning can be particularly valuable because the technician evaluates the complete system, including the receiver, piping and drain arrangement supplied as part of your installation.
If a fault occurs, do not disassemble the airend, separator housing or control panel before opening a warranty claim. Stop and isolate the machine, document its condition, and contact us before repairs or disassembly begin.
