The Chicago Pneumatic QRS5.0HP TM is a 5 HP rotary screw compressor designed for shops that need continuous compressed air with integrated refrigerated air drying. It combines a single-stage, air-cooled, oil-injected rotary screw airend with a 60-gallon receiver and delivers 18.1 CFM at 150 PSI. The integrated dryer is the standout feature, providing air treatment as part of the compressor package instead of requiring a separate dryer installation. The receiver is ASME/CRN certified, while the control panel carries UL, cUL, and CSA approvals in a NEMA 1 enclosure. Note: the published information conflicts on whether this model is single-phase or 208-230/460V three-phase, so confirm the electrical configuration before ordering.
The biggest advantage is having the refrigerated dryer built into the compressor package. Compressed air naturally carries moisture, and that moisture can condense as air cools downstream, creating problems for equipment and applications where dry air matters. By combining compression and refrigerated drying in one system, this QRS model is suited to operations where moisture control is part of the job rather than an optional add-on. The 100% duty rotary screw design is built for continuous operation, while start/stop control allows the compressor to run when air is required and stop when demand ends. Spin-on oil and separator filters also simplify routine service compared with more complex sealed assemblies.
The QRS5.0HP TM is a strong fit for body shops, paint-related applications, instrumentation work, tire and maintenance operations, and light industrial environments that need dependable compressed air throughout the workday. Its 18.1 CFM output and 150 PSI rating provide substantially more air capacity than a small shop compressor, while the integrated dryer addresses moisture before it becomes a downstream problem. For facilities already planning around continuous-duty air, this package brings the compressor and refrigerated air treatment together in one machine.

With no electronic drain fitted, draining condensate stays a manual weekly job. It takes a minute and it is the difference between a receiver that lasts and one that rusts from the inside.
Approvals, and What They Cover
The control panel is approved by UL, cUL and CSA, while the receiver is an ASME/CRN pressure vessel with safety valves. The panel approvals cover the electrical controls; the ASME/CRN certification covers the receiver.
Neither is a third-party safety listing for the complete compressor assembly. Electrical installation must meet local code, and any applicable pressure-vessel inspection requirements still apply.
If your insurer, facility standard or local authority requires specific documentation, contact us before ordering. We will confirm what the manufacturer provides for this model.
Shipping & Delivery
Ships by palletized freight to the lower 48 states, with shipping quoted live at checkout based on your delivery address.
At 419 lbs, plan for a forklift, loading dock or pallet jack on level ground. Terminal pickup is an alternative if unloading equipment is unavailable. Residential deliveries may incur an additional fee.
Inspect before signing. Check the enclosure, receiver, control panel and fittings with the driver present. Record any damage or shortages on the bill of lading and take photographs before accepting the shipment.
Warranty
A 5-Year warranty is available when the machine receives an authorized start-up. Contact us before ordering for the current warranty terms and commissioning cost.
Professional commissioning can verify key installation and operating conditions, including rotation direction, oil level and control settings.
If a fault occurs, stop and isolate the machine before contacting us. Do not open or disassemble the airend before a warranty claim is evaluated. Photograph the condition and keep the unit assembled until instructed otherwise.
