The EMAX Silent Air Industrial Plus 7.5 HP combines a two-stage, 80-gallon vertical air compressor with a matched 30 CFM refrigerated air dryer in one complete shop air system. Running on 460V three-phase power, it delivers 31 CFM at 100 PSI and up to 175 PSI maximum pressure, giving automotive shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial workspaces the airflow needed for multiple air tools and equipment. Its patented Silent Air intake silencer reduces compressor noise by targeting the loudest sound source — the intake — while the pressure-lubricated, 100% cast-iron pump is designed for continuous-run applications with an estimated 70,000-hour pump life.
The Silent Air system uses noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media to provide up to 50% quieter operation compared with traditional open-intake compressors, without the maintenance limitations of a full enclosure cabinet. The pressure-lubricated pump works like an automotive engine system, using a gear-driven oil pump, rifle-drilled crankshaft and connecting rods, and a spin-on oil filter to deliver clean oil directly to high-friction components. This reduces heat and wear during demanding, high-duty-cycle operation.
Built for professional automotive shops, fabrication facilities, and industrial environments that require reliable compressed air throughout the workday, this package includes a 30 CFM refrigerated air dryer with built-in prefilters to remove moisture before it reaches tools and air lines. Additional features include a dual-timer automatic drain, magnetic starter, dual-bolt belt tensioner, and pump-mount riser for improved cooling and easier maintenance.
Features
Silent Air Intake Silencer
The patented Silent Air system reduces intake noise through a combination of noise-reducing baffle plates and high-capacity filter media, lowering operating sound levels toward conversational volume. Unlike sealed cabinet-style systems, the serviceable silencer design keeps routine maintenance simple while providing easy access to internal components.
Pressure-Lubricated Pump
A gear-driven oil pump mounted at the rear of the crankshaft provides continuous, pressurized lubrication to every bearing point, helping keep critical components cool and extending pump service life. The crankshaft and connecting rods are rifle-drilled to deliver oil directly to high-friction wear areas, while an automotive-style spin-on oil filter removes contaminants to maintain clean lubrication.
A liquid-filled analog oil pressure gauge allows quick monitoring during operation, an adjustable regulator provides precise oil pressure control across the RPM range, and a bleeder valve simplifies oil pump priming. Unlike splash-lubricated designs, the pressure-lubrication system delivers oil exactly where it is needed, making it ideal for continuous-duty applications.
100% Cast Iron Construction
The pump features full cast iron construction, including the crankcase, cylinders, and cylinder heads, with no aluminum sleeves hidden beneath the paint. The cylinders are CNC-machined and precision-honed to maintain accurate concentric bores, reducing oil carryover and supporting longer piston-ring life.
Deep cooling fins increase surface area for improved heat dissipation during high-duty-cycle operation, while deep-bored threaded head holes maintain proper torque retention for improved head-gasket durability.
Cast Iron Cylinder Heads with Disc Valves
The solid cast iron cylinder heads use CNC-machined concentric-ring disc valves that are surface-ground for reliable sealing and extended service life. The disc valve design allows quick inspection and servicing — simply remove the retainer, lift the valve for inspection, and reinstall.
This design maintains consistent sealing performance and helps preserve head-gasket torque without requiring frequent retightening.
Four-Ring Pistons and Rebuildable Connecting Rods
The high-pressure cast iron pistons feature a four-ring design consisting of two oil-control rings and two compression rings. This configuration improves sealing, reduces blow-by, minimizes oil carryover, and extends piston-ring life.
The CNC-machined solid cast iron connecting rods use replaceable bearing inserts and wrist pins, allowing the assembly to be fully rebuilt rather than replaced. In this two-stage pump design, the low-pressure pistons are aluminum, where operating loads are lower at approximately 45 PSI.
Cast Iron Flywheel
The 7.5 HP pump uses a 20-inch cast iron flywheel with two B-style groove belts and nine large cooling fins. The flywheel’s added rotating mass helps reduce amp draw and energy consumption, while the wide belt contact area improves power transfer and extends belt life.
The integrated cooling fins increase airflow across the pump, helping maintain lower operating temperatures during extended use.
Continuous-Run Head Unloaders
This fully packaged electric unit includes a head unloader system designed for continuous-run applications. At preset pressure, the unloaders relieve the intake valve, allowing the motor to continue running instead of repeatedly restarting under load.
Keeping the intake valve open while unloaded allows cooler air circulation through the cylinder, reduces operating temperatures, and minimizes wear on the motor and magnetic starter. This configuration is recommended for applications with duty cycles of 40% or higher.
Dual-Bolt Belt Tensioner
The dual-bolt belt tensioner provides precise belt alignment and tension adjustment without the need for pry bars. This helps reduce belt wear, improves reliability, and simplifies maintenance.
Pump-Mount Riser
The pump mounting riser elevates the pump to improve airflow around the entire assembly. This allows 360-degree airflow from the flywheel across the oil reservoir and beneath the pump, improving cooling performance during demanding operation.

Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-year standard warranty covering defects in materials, workmanship, and parts from the date of delivery, along with one year of warranty labor performed by an authorized technician. Coverage can be extended to a full 5 years by registering the unit and following the required maintenance schedule using EMAX SMART OIL.
The included refrigerated dryer carries a separate 1-year standard warranty from the date of delivery, which can be extended to 3 years through registration and completion of the recommended annual filter maintenance.
To maintain warranty eligibility, the initial break-in oil must be replaced within the first 70 hours of operation. After the break-in period, oil changes are required every 6 months or 1,000 hours of runtime, whichever occurs first. The EMAX EFKIT008AWBS service kit, sold separately, includes the SMART OIL and maintenance components required for the extended warranty schedule.
FAQ
What electrical service does this compressor require?
The unit requires 460V three-phase power with a recommended 20-amp circuit. The motor has a full-load current draw of 10.3 amps with a 1.15 service factor, and a magnetic starter is included.
Can it run continuously?
Yes. The compressor is designed for continuous-run operation with a 60% duty cycle rating. The head unloaders allow the motor to continue running at pressure rather than repeatedly cycling on and off under load, reducing wear and improving performance in demanding applications.
How loud is it?
The patented Silent Air intake silencer reduces intake noise by up to 50% compared with comparable open-intake compressors, bringing operation closer to conversational sound levels.
Does the dryer remove moisture?
Yes. The included 30 CFM refrigerated air dryer removes moisture from compressed air before it reaches your air lines. It also includes a built-in 0.001-micron prefilter and a 0.005-micron coalescing prefilter to help clean and protect the downstream air system.
