Will It Fit?

• Footprint. 78" long by 28" wide, plus the clearance needed for service and airflow. Treat the published dimensions as the machine's footprint, not the complete installation space.
• Height. 55" to the top. Leave adequate clearance above the cooler for airflow and enough room around the tank and safety valve for inspection and service.
• Weight. 995 lbs. Plan for a level concrete slab and appropriate mechanical equipment to position the compressor safely.
• Power. 460V, three-phase, with a listed current draw of 21 A. Quincy does not publish a specific breaker size for this unit and directs buyers to consult a certified electrician. The foundation, electrical feed, disconnect and connection to the compressed-air main are the customer's responsibility. Installation should be completed by appropriately licensed tradespeople in accordance with local requirements.

The Pump: Iron, Two Stages, and Filtered Oil Supply

The pump uses a cast-iron construction with aluminum heads and compresses air in two stages. A high-efficiency fin-and-tube intercooler between the stages cools the air before it enters the second stage, reducing thermal stress and improving compression efficiency.

Stainless-steel reed valves with valve bumpers manage the intake and discharge cycles, while a gerotor positive-displacement oil pump and spin-on oil filter provide the lubrication system. An oil sight glass makes the oil level easy to monitor, and a low-oil shutoff helps protect the pump if lubrication falls below a safe level.

Downstream of the pump, the mounted air-cooled aftercooler reduces discharge temperature before the compressed air reaches the receiver. That helps more moisture condense at the compressor rather than farther downstream in the shop's air piping.

Certification, Honestly

Our records identify the receiver as built to the ASME pressure-vessel code and list CSA among the unit's marks. Those certifications should be read specifically for what they cover: an ASME pressure-vessel certification applies to the tank, while a mark on the overall assembly does not necessarily satisfy every certification or listing requirement imposed by a local authority.

Insurers, fleet operators and certain jurisdictions may have specific requirements for permanently installed equipment. If that applies to your installation, verify the required listing or certification against the unit's data plate before purchase. We would rather resolve the question before the compressor ships than have it become an issue during inspection.

Before You Order — Please Confirm

A few specifications are reported differently across the available documentation. Rather than guess, we recommend confirming the following before ordering:

• Lubrication. Published descriptions of the oil system differ. The package name and feature list identify the compressor as fully pressure-lubricated, while a specification field records it as splash lubricated. If the lubrication system is an important factor in your purchase, confirm it with us in writing before ordering. We will obtain the answer directly from Quincy.
• Automatic tank drain. The published information also differs on the tank drain. The description and one specification record indicate that an electronic automatic tank drain is fitted, while another specification states that it is not. Ask us to confirm the configuration before ordering if you are relying on an automatic drain.
• Delivered air volume. No CFM figure is published on this page because the available figure for this build is not accompanied by a verifiable unit of measure. Contact us and we will obtain the applicable factory figure.
• Pump speed. No pump speed is published for this specific 460V configuration, so we have not substituted a figure from another model. Quincy documents lower pump speeds for related configurations at other voltages, but those figures should not be treated as specifications for this build. Ask us and we will confirm the correct pump speed.

Shipping and Delivery

This unit ships by freight within the lower 48 states, with the current freight cost calculated at checkout for your delivery address.

At approximately 995 lbs, the compressor will arrive on a freight truck and the customer is responsible for unloading it. Plan for a suitable forklift or loading dock, or arrange terminal pickup if the delivery location cannot accommodate the shipment. Residential addresses are subject to an additional residential-delivery fee, which will be reflected in the freight quote at checkout.

Inspect the machine before accepting the shipment. Check the receiver, feet, guards, gauges and other exposed components for signs of shipping damage. If you find damage, document it and have it recorded on the bill of lading before signing.

Warranty

The compressor includes a 1-year factory warranty, with the option to extend coverage to a 3-year “No Bull” warranty subject to the terms and conditions in Quincy's warranty handbook.
