The two-stage compression system uses a fin-and-tube intercooler between stages to cool the air before final compression. This reduces thermal stress on valves and rings while improving compression efficiency at higher pressures. The 120-gallon receiver provides stored air for sudden demand and reduces how frequently the pump needs to load. A spin-on oil filter, gerotor positive-displacement oil pump, oil sight glass, and low-oil shutoff support routine maintenance and help protect the pump from lubrication-related damage. Note that this configuration does not include an air dryer, so applications requiring low-dew-point air will need separate downstream air treatment.

Why Two Stages, and Why Cast Iron
A single-stage pump compresses ambient air to its final pressure in one step. A two-stage pump divides that work between two compression stages, with a fin-and-tube intercooler between them. Cooling the air between stages gives the second stage cooler, denser air to compress and reduces the heat load on components such as the valves and rings.
That staged compression is one reason two-stage designs are well suited to higher-pressure and demanding applications. The cast-iron cylinders and aluminum heads follow the same practical philosophy: cast iron provides durable cylinder surfaces and helps damp vibration, while aluminum heads transfer heat efficiently.
Will It Fit?
There are five things to verify against your building before ordering:

Floor space. The unit measures 78" long × 28" wide. Allow additional working clearance around it so you can reach the belt guard, drain and oil fill without moving the compressor.

Height. At 55" tall, it will fit beneath relatively low ceilings, but still requires adequate clearance around the cooler for unrestricted airflow.

Floor loading. The compressor weighs approximately 995 lbs and should be installed on a level, solid slab capable of supporting the equipment and suitable for mechanical handling.

Power. Electrical supply is 208V, three-phase, with a listed current draw of 48.3 A for this configuration. Quincy does not publish a specific breaker size and directs buyers to consult a certified electrician. The appropriate breaker and conductor sizing depends on the actual electrical run, installation conditions and applicable local code.

Air connection. The receiver has a 1" tank outlet, providing the connection point for the shop's compressed-air distribution system.

Pressure, Storage and Why Tank Size Matters
The compressor is rated for 175 PSI and uses a 120-gallon receiver. The receiver provides stored-air capacity between compressor load cycles and helps absorb short periods of higher demand without requiring the pump to respond instantly to every fluctuation.
A larger receiver can also help reduce unnecessary cycling when demand varies, although the appropriate tank size ultimately depends on the compressor's output, operating pressure and application.
The Oil Circuit
The pump is equipped with a spin-on oil filter, Gerotor positive-displacement oil pump, oil sight glass and low-oil shutoff. The system circulates and filters the lubricant, provides a visual way to check oil level and helps protect the pump from operation when the oil level becomes too low.
The spin-on filter also simplifies routine maintenance, allowing the consumable filter to be replaced without extensive disassembly.

Certification, Honestly
Our product record identifies the receiver as built to the ASME pressure-vessel code and lists CSA among the unit's marks. These are not interchangeable certifications, and the relevant requirement is the one specified by your inspector, insurer or facility policy.
An ASME pressure-vessel designation applies to the receiver and its construction; it should not be interpreted as a blanket certification of the complete electrical assembly. If your site requires a particular certification or listing for permanently installed equipment, verify it against the unit's data plate before purchase rather than after installation.
Three Things to Confirm Before You Order
Published information for this package differs on three points. We are flagging each discrepancy rather than choosing the version that appears most favorable.

How the pump is lubricated. The manufacturer's package name and feature list describe the compressor as fully pressure-lubricated, while a specification field on this page records the oil system as splash lubricated. These describe different lubrication systems. If pressure lubrication is an important reason for choosing this model, confirm it with us in writing before ordering and we will obtain the current factory specification from Quincy.

The automatic tank drain. The product description, feature list and one specification record indicate that an electronic automatic tank drain is included, while another specification record lists none. If an automatic drain is a requirement, confirm the configuration with us before ordering.

Delivered air volume. The published CFM figure for this machine is also associated with a unit of measure that we cannot independently verify. Rather than publish an ambiguous performance number, we have left it off this page. Ask us and we will obtain Quincy's applicable factory airflow rating in writing before you order.
Shipping and Delivery
This compressor ships by freight within the lower 48 states, with the current freight cost calculated at checkout for your delivery address.
At approximately 995 lbs, the machine requires suitable unloading equipment. Arrange a forklift or loading dock with adequate capacity, or choose terminal pickup if your delivery location cannot safely unload the shipment. Residential addresses are subject to an additional residential-delivery fee, which will be reflected in the freight quote at checkout.
Inspect the shipment before signing the delivery paperwork. Check the pallet, receiver, belt guard, gauges, feet and other exposed components for visible damage. If you find anything wrong, document it and have the damage recorded on the bill of lading while the driver is present.
Warranty
This unit includes a 1-year factory warranty, with coverage extendable to a 3-year “No Bull” warranty subject to the conditions in Quincy's warranty handbook.
The warranty handbook is the governing document, and the extended coverage is conditional. Review the requirements before assuming the additional coverage applies to your installation.
If something goes wrong, contact us before disassembling the pump or other major components. Opening the equipment before a warranty claim has been evaluated can complicate the manufacturer's assessment and may affect eligibility.
