Leave working space around the hinged doors and detachable panels. The machine is designed for service access from the outside, but only if you have not built shelving or equipment against it.
Electrical. Listed as 230/460V AC, 3-Phase. Quincy publishes neither an amp draw nor a recommended breaker size, stating instead that a certified electrician should be consulted, and we will not put a number in that gap. Your electrician should size the feeder and overcurrent protection from the nameplate on the delivered machine. Have that conversation before delivery, not after it.
Heat. A machine rated for a 100% duty cycle is designed to run continuously, and the electrical energy it consumes ultimately becomes heat that must be removed from the room. A small cabinet does not produce less heat than a larger one; it simply concentrates the equipment into a smaller footprint. Plan ventilation accordingly. Confirming that the installation site can accommodate the machine's power, heat and service requirements is the customer's responsibility.
Why a Small Cabinet Is Worth Paying Attention To
Floor space in a working shop is not free, and plant rooms are often whatever space was left over. A 40 HP package measuring just 55.1" long and 49.2" tall can change what is possible: it can sit beneath an existing mezzanine, tuck under low ductwork, or run against the wall of a service bay instead of consuming a corner of the shop floor.
The tankless configuration is part of that same argument. Because the receiver is separate, you can position it where it makes the most sense for your installation, including outside the building or in an elevated location where permitted by the installation requirements.
