The QT MAX 15 HP is a two-stage reciprocating compressor built around a feature that directly affects the air coming out of your shop line: a built-in, air-cooled aftercooler with a temperature-driven variable-speed fan. The cooler reduces discharge temperature before air enters the receiver, helping remove moisture where it can be drained instead of allowing condensation to travel into your piping and tools. The package uses a splash-lubricated cast-iron pump with aluminum heads, belt drive and a 1,750 RPM motor, mounted on a 120-gallon horizontal receiver. Quincy rates the pump for more than 50,000 hours of service. Note: this configuration requires 208V, 3-phase power.
The two-stage pump compresses air in two steps, with a finned intercooler between them to remove heat before the second stage. The result is cooler, denser air entering the final compression stage and less thermal stress on the pump. The machine is rated to 175 PSI, while the aftercooler handles the heat and moisture leaving the pump before they reach the tank. An automatic electronic tank drain removes the condensate collected in the receiver, while the magnetic starter provides motor overload protection. A low-oil cut-off protects the pump if the oil level drops too far, and the oil sight glass makes routine level checks easy.
This horizontal configuration is a practical choice for commercial service shops, fabrication and welding operations, and other facilities where moisture control matters but floor height is limited. It measures 78" long × 28" wide × 55" high and weighs 850 lbs before oil, so plan for a level, solid slab and enough clearance for service access and cooling airflow. The 1" tank outlet provides a suitable connection point for the shop air system. Electrical installation, breaker and conductor sizing should be handled by a certified electrician based on the site's supply and local code.
The package includes the two-stage cast-iron pump, motor, 120-gallon horizontal receiver, magnetic starter, finned intercooler, built-in aftercooler with variable-speed fan, automatic electronic tank drain, low-oil cut-off and oil sight glass. An air dryer is not included, so applications requiring dryer-grade air will need separate treatment equipment.
Will it fit?
-
Footprint: 78" L × 28" W × 55" H
-
Weight: 850 lbs dry
-
Power: 208V, 3-phase; not compatible with single-phase service or field voltage conversion
-
Circuit: Breaker and conductor sizing should be determined by a certified electrician based on the installation and local code.
-
Outlet: 1" tank outlet
The horizontal design works well where wall length is available but ceiling height or floor space is limited. Install it on a level, load-bearing slab with appropriate service clearance.
Site preparation, electrical work and permits are the buyer's responsibility. Confirm your 208V three-phase service and installation requirements before ordering.
Built-in protection
The compressor includes a magnetic starter with motor overload protection, a low-oil cutoff switch and an oil sight glass. Together, these features help protect the motor and pump while making routine oil-level checks quick.
Perfect for
-
Automotive and service shops using impact tools, tire equipment and paint equipment.
-
Fabrication and welding shops where moisture can affect plasma equipment and air tools.
-
Low-ceiling facilities that can accommodate a horizontal 78" footprint.
- Commercial sites with 208V three-phase power.
What's in the box?
The package includes the two-stage cast-iron pump, industrial motor, magnetic starter, horizontal receiver, intercooler, air-cooled aftercooler with variable-speed fan, automatic electronic tank drain, low-oil cutoff and oil sight glass.
This unit is recorded as not including an air dryer, so plan for a separate dryer if your application requires dryer-grade air. The optional 3-year warranty extension is also not included and requires the EWK-4 Maintenance Kit to be purchased at the same time.

Certification, stated plainly
The receiver is built to North American pressure-vessel standards, and the unit carries a CSA mark. Our supplier data also references a third-party North American electrical listing, but we have not confirmed that marking on this specific unit, so we will not claim it here.
If your insurer or local inspector requires a specific electrical listing, ask us to verify what appears on the unit's data plate before ordering.
One thing to confirm before you order
The published information about the automatic tank drain is inconsistent. Quincy's feature list and detailed specifications show an automatic electronic drain, while a summary field lists it as absent.
If the drain is important to you, ask us to confirm the shipping configuration before ordering. We will verify it with Quincy.
Shipping and delivery
This compressor ships by freight to the lower 48 states and is delivered to the curb or dock line. The carrier does not move the unit inside, so have a forklift or equipment mover ready. Terminal pickup is also available.
Residential deliveries may incur an additional fee. Let us know if the delivery address is residential or lacks commercial receiving equipment so we can quote freight correctly.
Inspect the crate before signing. Photograph any damage and record it on the bill of lading before the driver leaves.
Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-year factory warranty for both consumer and commercial use. Purchasing the EWK-4 Maintenance Kit with the machine extends coverage to Quincy's 3-year "No Bull" warranty, including on-site service and labor. Registration with Quincy is required for the extended warranty.
If you suspect a warranty issue, stop the machine and contact us before disassembly. Opening the pump can make it difficult to determine the cause of failure and may affect warranty coverage.
