The QT MAX 15 HP is a two-stage reciprocating compressor built around a feature that directly improves the air delivered to your shop: a factory-installed, air-cooled aftercooler with a temperature-driven variable-speed fan. It cools compressed air before it reaches the receiver, causing much of the moisture to condense at the tank instead of later in your piping, tools or spray equipment. The package uses a splash-lubricated cast-iron pump with aluminum heads, belt drive and a 1,750 RPM motor on a 120-gallon horizontal receiver rated to 175 PSI. Note: this model requires 208V, 3-phase power.
The two-stage design compresses air in two steps, with a finned intercooler between the cylinders to reduce heat before the second stage. That cooler, denser air requires less work to compress and helps keep operating temperatures under control. The aftercooler then handles the discharge air before it enters the tank, while the automatic electronic tank drain removes the condensate that collects there. A magnetic starter provides motor overload protection, and the low-oil cut-off stops the compressor if the oil level drops too far. The oil sight glass makes routine checks quick.
This configuration fits independent automotive shops, fabrication and welding operations, and commercial facilities that need steady compressed air with better moisture control. Its horizontal design is also useful where ceiling height is limited: the unit measures 78" long × 28" wide × 55" high and weighs 850 lbs before oil. Allow additional space around the compressor for cooling airflow and service access, and provide a solid, level slab. The receiver has a 1" outlet for connection to the shop air system.
The package includes the two-stage cast-iron pump, motor, horizontal receiver, magnetic starter, finned intercooler, factory-installed aftercooler with variable-speed fan, automatic electronic tank drain, low-oil cut-off and oil sight glass. An air dryer is not included, so applications requiring dryer-grade air will need separate air-treatment equipment. Electrical installation, circuit sizing and site preparation are the customer's responsibility.
Will It Fit?
-
Dimensions: 78" L × 28" W × 55" H
-
Weight: 850 lbs dry
-
Power: 230V, 3-phase; not compatible with single-phase service
-
Breaker: To be sized by a certified electrician according to the installation and local code
-
Connection: 1" tank outlet
The 78" length is especially important when planning the delivery route. Allow additional clearance for service and belt-guard access, and verify that the doorway, slab and final installation area can accommodate the unit.
Site preparation is the buyer's responsibility, including electrical service, slab capacity, ventilation, permits and inspections.
Built for Easy Service
The compressor uses a splash-lubricated cast-iron pump with aluminum heads, plus an oil sight glass, low-oil cutoff and magnetic starter with motor overload protection. These features simplify routine checks and help protect the pump and motor from common operating problems.
Perfect For
-
Low-ceiling shops and mezzanine installations.
-
Multi-bay automotive service facilities using air tools throughout the day.
-
Body and paint shops where moisture control is important.

Certification, stated plainly
The receiver is manufactured to North American pressure-vessel standards, and the machine carries a CSA mark. Our records also reference a third-party North American electrical listing, but the information is not clear enough for us to claim it.
If a specific electrical listing is required by your insurer or local code, contact us and we will confirm what appears on the unit's data plate before purchase.
One thing to confirm
Our product data contains conflicting information about the automatic electronic tank drain. The feature list and detailed specifications show one as included, while a separate summary field says it is not.
If the drain is important to your installation, ask us to verify the as-shipped configuration before ordering.
Shipping and delivery
This compressor ships by freight to the lower 48 states on a crate and skid. Plan for unloading with a suitable forklift or loading dock; carriers deliver to the truck, not inside the building. Terminal pickup is also available.
Residential deliveries may incur an additional fee, so provide the correct delivery type when ordering.
Inspect the crate, skid and sheet metal before signing. Photograph any damage and record it on the bill of lading before the driver leaves.
Warranty
Quincy provides a 1-year factory warranty for both consumer and commercial use. Purchasing the EWK-4 Maintenance Kit with the compressor extends coverage to the 3-year "No Bull" warranty, including on-site service and labor. Registration with Quincy is required for the extended coverage.
If you suspect a warranty issue, contact us before disassembly. Opening the pump can make it difficult to determine the original cause of failure and may affect warranty coverage.
