The 460V motor draws less current than an equivalent lower-voltage configuration, which can affect feeder and disconnect requirements, particularly when the compressor is located far from the electrical panel. The pump operates at a relatively low 1,750 RPM, helping control piston speed, bearing loads, oil temperature and operating noise during extended use. Two-stage compression sends air through a high-efficiency finned intercooler between stages, reducing the heat and moisture carried into the receiver while allowing the second stage to efficiently reach 175 PSI.
This compressor is suited to industrial facilities, fleet and heavy-equipment shops, fabrication operations and other commercial applications that already have 460V three-phase distribution. The horizontal tank works particularly well under mezzanines, low beams and in older buildings where a vertical 120-gallon receiver would create a clearance problem. At approximately 850 lbs, it requires a level, load-bearing floor with service clearance around the pump, belt drive and tank connections. The 1" tank outlet should also be considered when sizing the shop's distribution piping.
A factory-fitted magnetic starter with thermal overload protection helps protect the motor during overload conditions. Electrical service, circuit sizing, disconnects, site preparation, piping and downstream filtration are installation requirements outside the compressor package. Have a certified electrician verify the 460V supply and size the circuit according to the machine nameplate, conductor run and applicable code.
Choose the Voltage First
This compressor is designed for 460V, 3-phase power. Check your electrical service before ordering—three-phase motors are not something you can simply rewire between voltage classes.
Quincy does not publish a fixed breaker size and recommends a certified electrician determine the correct overcurrent protection based on conductor size, run length and local code. This is hard-wired industrial equipment, not a plug-in appliance.
Two-Stage Compression with Intercooling
The pump compresses air in two stages, with a high-efficiency finned intercooler between them. Cooling the air before the second stage reduces the work required to reach 175 PSI, lowers operating temperatures and helps remove moisture before it reaches the tank and air lines.
Built for Continuous Operation
The pump runs at 1,750 RPM, reducing piston speed, bearing load, oil temperature and noise. Splash lubrication draws from an extra-capacity oil reserve, while the two-piece connecting rods simplify maintenance and rebuilding.

Will It Fit?
The 120-gallon horizontal receiver keeps the package compact at 78" L × 28" W × 55" H and 850 lbs. Its low profile works well under mezzanines, low ceilings and beams where a vertical receiver may not fit.
Allow clearance for the drain, discharge and belt access, and install the unit on a flat, level, load-bearing floor. The tank outlet is 1"; properly sized shop piping is important to avoid restricting airflow.

Certification, Honestly
The receiver is ASME certified, and the manufacturer also lists a CSA marking. These cover different areas: ASME applies to the pressure vessel, while electrical safety markings apply to the motor and controls.
When the unit arrives, verify the markings on its data plate. If your insurer, local code or facility requirements call for a specific listing, confirm it before installation.
Shipping and Delivery
This 850-lb compressor ships by freight to the lower 48 states. Unloading requires a forklift, loading dock or arranged terminal pickup. Residential deliveries may incur an additional fee.
Inspect the crate and compressor before signing. Document any damage on the bill of lading while the carrier is still present.
Warranty
The unit includes a 1-year factory warranty. Quincy offers a 3-year "No Bull" warranty when the manufacturer's requirements are met, including purchasing the matching maintenance kit with the compressor and registering the unit with Quincy. The extended coverage includes on-site service and labor.
