The Quincy QT MAX 5 HP is a 208V three-phase compressor built around a splash-lubricated, cast-iron two-stage pump that delivers 17.2 CFM at 175 PSI. It pairs that output with an 80-gallon vertical ASME receiver, factory-installed magnetic starter, and air-cooled aftercooler in a compact vertical package. Unlike models designed for multiple electrical configurations, this build is specifically for 208V 3-phase service, so verify the voltage available at your panel before ordering.
The integrated air-cooled aftercooler helps manage one of the biggest challenges in compressed-air systems: moisture. Compression heats the air and increases its moisture content, so cooling it before it enters the receiver causes much of that water to condense at the machine instead of traveling through the shop's air lines. That can reduce moisture reaching filters, dryers, and pneumatic tools while helping protect downstream equipment and finishing work. The pump also uses a finned intercooler between compression stages to control heat, while its slow operating speed, oversized oil reservoir, and low-oil shutdown are designed to support long service life. Quincy rates the pump for more than 50,000 hours.
The QT MAX's cast-iron pump uses aluminum heads and two-piece connecting rods, with the factory magnetic starter providing motor thermal overload protection. The vertical receiver keeps the footprint to approximately 37" × 24", while the overall height is 74" and assembled weight is 680 lbs. This configuration is well suited to commercial automotive shops, fabrication facilities, paint and body operations, and other professional workplaces with 208V three-phase power. Before purchasing, confirm your building's electrical supply, available ceiling height, access route, and floor capacity. If an automatic tank drain is important to your installation, confirm the current configuration with us before ordering, as the available product information is inconsistent on that feature.
Two Disclosures Before Ordering
Model code: The title and specifications list 453D80VCB20M, while the description and URL show 253D80VCB20M. Please provide the model code on your quote so we can confirm the correct build with the manufacturer.
Tank drain: The feature list and detailed specifications show an automatic electronic drain, but another field says it is not included. If an automatic drain is important, ask us to confirm it in writing before ordering.
Will It Fit?
-
Footprint: 37" × 24"
-
Height: 74"
-
Weight: 680 lbs
-
Power: 208V, 3-phase
-
Starter: Magnetic starter included
Why the Aftercooler Matters
The air-cooled aftercooler reduces discharge temperature and condenses much of the moisture before air enters the receiver. This helps protect piping, filters and pneumatic equipment.
Slow, Heavy & Protected
The cast-iron two-stage pump uses aluminum heads, a finned intercooler and slow-speed operation for lower heat, friction and noise. The pump is rated for 50,000+ hours and includes:
- Two-piece connecting rods
- Oversized oil reservoir
- Low-oil shutdown
- Magnetic starter with thermal overload protection
Perfect For
- 208V three-phase commercial shops
-
Automotive workshops with multiple bays
- Paint and body shops
-
Fabrication shops using plasma cutters, grinders or blast equipment

Certification, Stated Plainly
Our data lists an ASME receiver, with UL and CSA coverage on the electrical side. The feature list also states that the unit is built in the USA.
We do not claim a third-party safety listing for the complete machine assembly. Component approvals are not the same as a certification for the finished unit. If your insurer or purchasing requirements call for a specific listing, ask before ordering and we will confirm it with the manufacturer.
Shipping & Delivery
Freight shipping is available throughout the lower 48 states, with the rate quoted at checkout based on your address.
Plan the unloading in advance:
- Forklift or loading dock preferred
- Terminal pickup available if needed
- Residential delivery carries an additional fee
Inspect the shipment before signing. Check the pallet, crate, tank, gauges and starter enclosure. Record any damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver before accepting the shipment.
Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-year factory warranty covering parts and labor. Purchasing the EWK-3 maintenance kit with the compressor and registering promptly can extend coverage under Quincy's 3-Year "No Bull" Warranty, including on-site service. The extended coverage must be arranged at the time of purchase.
