The QT MAX 5 HP compressor is built for shops that need reliable compressed air without babysitting the machine. Its slow-running, cast iron two-stage pump delivers 17.2 CFM at 175 PSI, while the protection package adds a low-oil shutdown switch, oversized oil reservoir, and factory magnetic starter with thermal overload. The 80-gallon vertical ASME receiver and air-cooled aftercooler complete a setup designed for sustained shop use. Requires 230V 3-Phase power.
The standout feature is the pump's slow-rotation design, which reduces the heat and friction associated with higher-speed compressor pumps. Cast iron construction, aluminum heads, stainless steel reed valves, and a finned intercooler work together to control operating temperatures between compression stages. The air-cooled aftercooler then lowers the temperature of the compressed air before it reaches the tank, helping moisture condense in the receiver instead of throughout your downstream piping. The result is cleaner air reaching your tools and less moisture for filters, dryers, and air lines to handle.
This compressor is a practical choice for automotive and truck service shops, fabrication operations, light manufacturing, and other 230V three-phase workshops with steady compressed-air demand. Its combination of slow pump operation, cooling, and automatic protection makes it particularly well suited to installations where the compressor may run for long periods with limited operator attention.
Two Things to Confirm Before Ordering
Part number: The title and specifications list 453D80VCB23M, while the description and page URL list 253D80VCB23M. Send us the code on your quotation so we can confirm the exact build with the manufacturer.
Automatic tank drain: Published details conflict. The feature list and detailed specifications show an electronic automatic drain, while another field says no drain is fitted. Ask us to confirm this in writing before ordering.
Fitting It & Power Requirements
This vertical unit measures 37" × 24" × 74" and weighs 680 lbs assembled. Confirm ceiling clearance, delivery access and floor capacity before ordering.

Slow-Speed, Heavy-Duty Pump
The slow-speed cast-iron pump is designed to reduce heat and wear. Aluminum heads, a finned intercooler and two-stage cooling help control operating temperatures, while the manufacturer rates the pump for 50,000+ hours of service.
Additional features include:
- Two-piece connecting rods
- Stainless steel reed valves
- Oversized oil reservoir
- Low-oil shutdown
- Magnetic starter with thermal overload protection
Air-Cooled Aftercooler
The air-cooled aftercooler reduces discharge temperature and condenses moisture before air enters the tank. This helps reduce condensate in downstream piping and lowers the load on filters and dryers.
An aftercooler is not a substitute for a refrigerated dryer if your application requires dried air.

Certification, Stated Plainly
Our data lists ASME for the receiver and UL and CSA for the electrical side. The feature list also states US manufacture.
We do not claim a third-party listing for the complete assembled machine. Component approvals are not equivalent to certification of the finished unit. If your insurer, inspector or purchasing standard requires a specific listing, ask before ordering and we will request the certificate from the manufacturer.
Shipping & Delivery
Freight only, lower 48, with shipping priced at checkout based on your address.
At 680 lbs, plan for a forklift, loading dock or terminal pickup. Residential delivery carries an additional fee.
Inspect the shipment before signing. Check the pallet, crating, tank, gauges and starter box. Record any damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver before accepting delivery.
Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-year factory warranty covering parts and labor. Purchasing the EWK-3 maintenance kit with the compressor and registering the machine extends coverage under Quincy's 3-Year "No Bull" Warranty, including on-site service.
The maintenance kit must be purchased at the time of the original order and cannot be added later.
