The QT MAX 5 HP air compressor is built for shops that need to pair reliable compressed air with a refrigerated dryer. Its factory-installed air-cooled aftercooler removes much of the moisture before the air reaches your dryer, reducing the amount of bulk condensate the dryer has to handle. The result is a better-prepared air supply for downstream drying equipment. The compressor combines a splash-lubricated cast iron two-stage pump, an 80-gallon vertical ASME receiver, and a factory magnetic starter. Requires 460V 3-Phase power.
The aftercooler is the key advantage for moisture-sensitive compressed-air systems. Hot, moisture-laden air leaving the pump is cooled before entering the receiver, allowing much of that moisture to condense at the tank rather than farther down the air lines. It does not replace a refrigerated dryer, but it reduces the bulk moisture load reaching it so the dryer can focus on removing the remaining water vapor. A separate finned intercooler between the pump's two compression stages also helps control operating temperature by cooling the air before the second stage. Combined with the pump's slow rotation, cast iron construction, and low-oil shutdown, these features support the manufacturer's stated 50,000+ hour pump life.
This configuration is well suited to professional shops already running a refrigerated dryer or planning to install one, particularly where moisture control directly affects the finished work. Paint and finishing operations, plasma cutting, blast cabinets, automotive service facilities, and plants with 460V three-phase distribution can all benefit from having moisture reduced before air reaches the rest of the system.
Two Things to Confirm Before Ordering
Part number: The title and specifications list 453D80VCB46M, while the description and page URL list 253D80VCB46M. Send us the model number on your paperwork so we can confirm the exact build and voltage with the manufacturer.
Tank drain: Published details conflict. The feature list and detailed specifications indicate an electronic automatic drain, while another field says no drain is fitted. If the drain is important to your application, ask us to confirm it in writing before ordering.
Voltage, Space & Access
This model requires 460V, 3-phase power. If your facility uses a different three-phase voltage, contact us for the correct model.

Why the Aftercooler Matters
Compressed air leaves the pump hot and moisture-laden. The air-cooled aftercooler reduces the temperature before air enters the receiver, causing much of the moisture to condense in the tank instead of downstream piping.
This helps reduce water and corrosion and allows a refrigerated dryer to work more efficiently. An aftercooler does not replace a refrigerated dryer when genuinely dry air is required.
Cast Iron, Cooled Twice
A finned intercooler cools the air between compression stages, improving efficiency and reducing discharge temperature.

Certification, Stated Plainly
Our data supports an ASME receiver, UL and CSA on the electrical components, and US manufacture as stated in the feature list.
We do not claim a third-party safety listing for the complete machine assembly. Component approvals are separate from certification of the finished unit. If your plant standards or insurer require a specific listing, ask before ordering and we will confirm it with the manufacturer.
Shipping & Delivery
Freight shipping is available throughout the lower 48 states, with the rate calculated at checkout based on your address.
At 680 lbs, unloading requires a forklift, loading dock or terminal pickup. Residential delivery carries an additional fee, and terminal pickup may be the simpler option.
Inspect the shipment before signing. Check the crate, tank, gauges and starter enclosure, and record any damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver.
Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-year factory warranty covering parts and labor. Quincy's 3-Year "No Bull" Warranty may extend coverage when the required maintenance kit is purchased with the compressor and the unit is registered promptly. Confirm the exact requirements for this model before ordering, as the extension cannot be added later.
