The QT Pro 7.5 HP air compressor delivers the capacity of a full-size two-stage industrial compressor while running on 230V single-phase power. Its cast iron QT-7.5 belt-drive pump is paired with a vertical 80-gallon receiver and rated for a 100% duty cycle, making it a practical alternative for facilities that need 7.5 HP but do not have three-phase service. Quincy specifies an 80 Amp breaker, so confirm your electrical panel can support the required circuit before ordering.
The pump uses a two-stage compression design with a high-efficiency finned tube intercooler between stages. Cooling the air before the second stage helps reduce operating temperatures while allowing the compressor to reach its 175 PSI working pressure. The cast iron pump uses an aluminum head, stainless steel reed valves, industrial-class bearings, graphite gaskets, and two-piece connecting rods for durability and serviceability. A balanced cast iron flywheel helps smooth pump operation while its fan design moves cooling air across the pump and intercooler. The industrial motor includes capacitor start and thermal overload protection, supporting the compressor during extended operation.
This configuration is ideal for independent automotive shops, body and paint operations, restoration garages, fabrication shops, and serious home workshops that need sustained compressed-air capacity but only have single-phase power available. The vertical receiver occupies roughly 37" × 24" of floor space, making it a good fit where floor area is limited, although the approximately 74" overall height requires adequate ceiling clearance. It is especially useful for customers outgrowing smaller single-stage compressors who want two-stage performance without installing three-phase service.
Two Things to Confirm Before Ordering
Automatic tank drain: The records conflict. The feature list and detailed specifications indicate an automatic/electronic drain, while another field says no drain is fitted. If this feature matters, ask us to confirm it with the manufacturer in writing before ordering.
Air delivery: No CFM rating is published because the catalogue and inherited listing contain conflicting figures. Since CFM determines system sizing, tell us your application and working pressure so we can confirm the manufacturer's rated delivery before you order.
Will It Fit?
The vertical compressor measures approximately 37" × 24" × 74" and weighs 720 lb. Check the installation area, doorways, delivery route, ceiling clearance, and floor capacity before delivery.
The unit requires 230V single-phase power. No breaker size is specified for this build, so have a qualified electrician size the circuit from the motor data plate based on conductor length, ambient conditions, local code, and existing panel load.
Site preparation, electrical installation, and drain routing are the buyer's responsibility.
Why the Aftercooler Matters
The air-cooled aftercooler reduces discharge temperature before compressed air enters the receiver. This encourages moisture to condense at the tank rather than downstream in your piping and hoses, helping reduce water reaching filters, dryers, and air tools.
The finned intercooler serves a different purpose: it cools air between the two compression stages, reducing heat before the second stage and supporting efficient operation at 175 PSI.
Two-Stage Cast-Iron Pump
The slow-speed, two-stage pump uses cast-iron cylinders, an aluminum head, and a high-efficiency intercooler. Two-stage compression supports the 175 PSI working pressure while controlling heat.
Additional features include:
- 50,000-hour rated pump life
- Two-piece connecting rods
- Oversized oil reservoir
- Low-oil protection
- Magnetic starter with thermal overload
- Slow-speed operation for reduced heat and vibration

Certification, Stated Plainly
The data lists an ASME-certified receiver, UL and CSA recognition for the electrical components, and states that the unit is built in the USA.
These do not constitute a third-party safety listing for the complete assembled machine. If your insurer, inspector, or corporate purchasing standard requires that specific listing, ask us before ordering so we can confirm the available manufacturer documentation.
Shipping & Delivery
Ships by freight throughout the lower 48, with shipping calculated at checkout based on your delivery address.
At approximately 720 lb, plan for a forklift, loading dock, or pallet jack at delivery. Terminal pickup may be an easier alternative when site unloading equipment is unavailable. Residential delivery carries an additional fee.
Inspect before signing. Check the pallet, crating, and tank for damage, and record anything you find on the delivery receipt with the driver present. A clean signed receipt can make freight damage claims difficult.
Warranty
The compressor includes a 1-Year factory warranty and may qualify for Quincy's 3-Year “No Bull” coverage, subject to manufacturer requirements. These may include purchasing the required maintenance kit with the compressor and registering the unit promptly. The extension cannot be added retrospectively, so confirm the exact requirements for this model before ordering.
