The QGS 7.5 is a 7.5 HP rotary screw compressor that brings 100% continuous-duty air to shops with 230V single-phase power. Unlike many screw compressors designed around three-phase industrial service, this model delivers 20.4 CFM at 150 PSI from a standard 230V 1-phase supply, making continuous compressed air possible without upgrading to three-phase utility service. Its quiet enclosure produces just 64 dBA, allowing the compressor to operate in a working area without the constant disruption associated with a conventional piston machine.
The oil-injected twin-screw airend compresses air through two meshing rotors rather than reciprocating pistons, providing a steady supply without the pressure pulses and repeated cycling associated with piston compressors. The oil simultaneously seals the rotor clearances, removes heat, and lubricates the bearings, supporting continuous operation throughout the workday. A synthetic lubricant rated for 8,000 hours helps extend service intervals, while the long-life V-belt drive provides a straightforward maintenance point. The TEFC motor uses an IP55-rated enclosure to protect the motor from dust and moisture, and low oil carryover helps keep the compressed-air stream cleaner.
This compressor is particularly well suited to single-phase automotive and commercial workshops that need sustained air delivery but do not have access to three-phase power. It also makes sense for work environments where technicians spend their day near the compressor, including paint, cabinet, and finishing operations that benefit from consistent air pressure. The 64 dBA sound level and 100% duty rating make it a practical alternative when a piston compressor would be too disruptive or would spend too much time cycling at its duty limit. Note: the unit is specified for a minimum ambient temperature of 36°F, so installation in an unheated space should be evaluated accordingly.
Why a Screw Compressor Is Different
A piston compressor runs in cycles: it builds pressure, reaches cut-out, stops, then restarts as demand lowers tank pressure. A rotary screw compresses air continuously between two meshing rotors, making 100% duty operation a core part of its design.
This oil-injected twin-screw airend uses oil to seal rotor clearances, remove heat and lubricate the bearings. The result is a steady air supply suited to applications that need extended, continuous operation.
64 dBA: A Quieter Shop Environment
The specified sound level is 64 dBA, with the compressor housed in a standard quiet enclosure. That makes noise a practical consideration when the machine needs to operate near workers rather than in a separate compressor room.
Built for Continuous Operation
The package uses premium synthetic lubricant rated for up to 8,000 hours and a long-life V-belt drive. The TEFC motor carries an IP55 rating, protecting the motor from dust and water exposure.
Control is through a UL and cUL compliant start/stop panel. The specified minimum ambient temperature is 36°F, so confirm that your installation stays above this limit in cold weather.
Will It Fit?
The compressor is mounted on a horizontal 60-gallon receiver and measures:
- 56" L × 23" W × 51" H
- 465 lbs
- 1/2" tank outlet
- 230V single-phase
- Magnetic starter included
Leave adequate clearance around the enclosure for cooling airflow and service access. Confirm the electrical supply, breaker/conductor requirements, doorway dimensions, access route and floor capacity before ordering. Electrical installation should be handled by a qualified electrician.
Perfect For
-
Single-phase workshops needing continuous compressed air
-
Noise-sensitive workspaces where the compressor operates near employees
-
Painting, cabinet and finishing applications requiring steady air delivery
-
Small commercial and light industrial shops with extended air demand
What Arrives
The package includes the oil-injected twin-screw airend, TEFC motor, V-belt drive, quiet enclosure, control panel and horizontal 60-gallon receiver.
The available documentation does not list a hose, downstream filtration, dryer, regulator or isolation valve as included. Plan for those separately.
If you're using the extended warranty, arrange any required Quincy maintenance kits and authorized startup during installation rather than afterward.

Certification, Stated Plainly
The specification sheet lists an ASME mark for the pressure vessel and states that the control panel is UL and cUL compliant.
The ASME certification applies to the receiver’s design, materials and construction. UL/cUL compliance applies to the electrical controls—not the complete machine.
Neither certification covers breathing-air or food-contact air quality, and neither replaces local requirements for pressure-vessel registration, permits or inspections. Check your local requirements before installation.
Shipping & Delivery
Freight only to the lower 48, with live shipping rates calculated at checkout.
Plan unloading before delivery: you’ll need a forklift or loading dock, or you can arrange terminal pickup if neither is available. Residential delivery carries an additional fee, so provide the correct destination type when ordering.
Inspect the shipment before signing. Check the guards, gauges, receiver and packaging for damage. Photograph anything questionable and record it on the bill of lading while the driver is present.
Warranty
Base coverage is a 1-year factory warranty.
An extended 3-year factory warranty is available with Quincy registration and required Quincy maintenance kits. The True Blue 5-year warranty requires a Quincy-authorized startup and covers the airend, motor, separator reservoir, cooler and heat exchanger.
If the 5-year warranty matters to your purchase, arrange the authorized startup before commissioning. It is a warranty requirement, not simply an optional service.
If a fault occurs, contact us before disassembling the compressor. Keep the machine assembled so the manufacturer can properly assess the failure.
