The Quincy truck-mount compressor combines a 13 HP Honda gasoline engine with a QT-7.5 cast-iron belt-drive pump, 30-gallon horizontal receiver, 175 PSI maximum pressure, and 100% duty-cycle rating for sustained field use. What separates it from a basic engine-driven compressor is the automatic idle control: the engine reduces speed when the receiver reaches pressure, then returns to operating speed when air demand resumes. That can reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, engine hours, and noise during the gaps between tool use. The Honda also has engine low-oil shutdown, protecting the engine if oil level drops during mobile operation.
The QT-7.5 pump uses a two-stage compression design with splash lubrication, an aluminium head for heat dissipation, and a high-efficiency fin-and-tube intercooler between stages. Stainless steel reed valves with bumpers help control valve movement, while graphite cylinder and head gaskets maintain sealing through repeated heating and cooling cycles. A fan-type cast-iron flywheel provides cooling airflow while helping the belt-driven pump operate smoothly. The electric-start Honda requires a 12-volt supply, but the battery and cable are not included, so the vehicle installation needs to provide the appropriate electrical connection. Because the pump is splash lubricated and the unit has no oil sight glass, regular oil-level checks remain important.
This compressor is designed for mobile tire service, roadside assistance, fleet maintenance, agricultural and utility vehicles, and contractors who need substantial compressed-air capacity away from mains power. Its 42" × 21" × 40" dimensions and approximately 515-lb weight make vehicle payload and mounting capacity important considerations before installation. The unit requires adequate airflow around the flywheel and intercooler for cooling, while fuel supply, exhaust routing, and ventilation must be properly arranged. Because it uses a gasoline engine, it must never be operated inside an enclosed vehicle body or closed workshop due to carbon monoxide exposure.
Three Things to Know Before Ordering
No battery or cable included. Electric start requires a 12V supply, which must be provided by you or your vehicle upfitter. Plan the battery connection, cable and isolator before installation.
Splash lubrication. The pump uses splash lubrication. If your application involves steep inclines, very cold starts or exceptionally long unattended operation, ask about the pressure-lubricated model in the same family, which uses a Gerotor oil pump.
No oil sight glass. The specification record does not list an oil sight glass. The low-oil shutdown provides protection, but regular oil-level checks remain part of routine maintenance.
Will It Fit Your Truck?
Measure the available deck space before ordering:
-
Dimensions: 42" L × 21" W × 40" H
-
Weight: 515 lbs
-
Mounting: Crane or forklift recommended
-
Cooling: Keep clear airflow around the flywheel and intercooler
The 515-lb machine counts against your vehicle’s payload, axle and gross vehicle ratings. Confirm those limits before installation.
Fuel supply, exhaust routing and ventilation are the buyer’s responsibility. Never operate the gasoline engine inside an enclosed vehicle body or closed workshop because of carbon monoxide risk.
What Automatic Idle Does
Automatic idle reduces engine speed when the compressor reaches operating pressure and increases it again when air demand returns.
For mobile service work, this means the engine does not remain at full governed speed when the pump is unloaded. It is especially useful for applications with frequent periods between air-tool use.
Pump, Flywheel & Valves
The QT-7.5 cast-iron belt-drive pump is rated for 50,000+ hours. It uses an aluminum head, graphite cylinder and head gaskets, stainless steel reed valves with valve bumpers, and a high-efficiency fin-and-tube intercooler.
A fan-type cast-iron flywheel provides the pump’s belt drive and airflow across the cooling components.

Certification, Stated Plainly
The available certification data lists ASME, UL and CSA. These are receiver- and component-level certifications; they do not establish a third-party safety listing for the complete engine-driven assembly.
If your fleet policy, site requirements or insurer requires a listing for the complete machine, confirm it with us before ordering so we can obtain the appropriate manufacturer documentation.
Shipping & Delivery
Freight to the lower 48, with shipping quoted live at checkout. At 515 lbs, the unit ships crated on a pallet and requires a forklift, loading dock or carrier-terminal pickup. Residential delivery carries an additional fee.
Inspect the crate, engine shroud, tank, gauge and belt guard before signing. Photograph any damage and record it on the bill of lading while the driver is present.
Warranty
The standard warranty is 1 year, extending to Quincy’s 3-Year “No Bull” warranty when the EWK-3 Maintenance Kit is purchased with the compressor and the unit is registered with Quincy. Both conditions must be met for the extended coverage to apply.
If you want the 3-year coverage, tell us when placing the order so the required kit can be included.
