The Katool KT-EX20 is a compact crawler-track mini excavator weighing 1,785 lbs — light enough to move between job sites on a standard pickup-and-trailer setup without a dedicated equipment hauler. It's built on a Q235 and Q245 structural steel frame and runs on a Briggs & Stratton gasoline engine rather than diesel, which matters for owners who don't run a diesel-equipped fleet: simpler cold-weather starting, easier field maintenance, and no need to source diesel fuel separately for a single machine.

The mechanical thumb ships standard on the boom — not as an add-on. That means the machine arrives ready to grab and hold rocks, root balls, brush, and demolition debris that a bare bucket can't control. Combined with the welded dozer blade, the KT-EX20 handles the full cycle of a light excavation job: dig, grab, and grade without swapping attachments or renting supplemental equipment. Rubber crawler tracks protect finished surfaces like lawns, pavers, and driveways that would be damaged by steel tracks. The included package — canopy, seat, joystick controls, rubber tracks, dozer blade, boom, bucket, and mechanical thumb — means the machine is work-ready on delivery.

The KT-EX20 is built for property owners tackling drainage, landscaping, or land-clearing projects who need more controlled digging power than hand tools provide, landscaping crews working in tight access areas where a full-size excavator won't fit or is cost-prohibitive, and light construction and renovation contractors who need a compact, gas-powered machine they can move on a standard trailer without a CDL or heavy-haul setup.
