The Katool KT-T800 is a wheel-clamp tire changer built for shops and serious home garages that need reliable, repeatable performance. It runs on a 110V/1-phase, 2.0 HP motor with pure copper windings ā a construction detail that translates to stronger torque, faster heat dissipation, and a longer service life than motors built with aluminum substitutes. The closed-body design keeps internal components protected from the dirt and debris that's unavoidable in any working shop.
Where the KT-T800 earns its place is in the details that protect your customers' wheels. The alloy steel jaw features carburization treatment to a depth of 0.8ā1.1mm, followed by a full quenching process ā hard on the outside for durability, tough on the inside to resist cracking. A jaw cover adds a final layer of rim protection. The stainless steel mounting head is solution-treated and interface-polished, shaped to follow engineering mechanics principles, and fitted with a plastic cover so it won't scratch alloy or chrome rims during the bead-seating process.
Day-to-day operation is handled through a pull-type pedal control system that keeps both hands free for the tire, along with a pedal-controlled inflation gauge and a high-quality spade cover to prevent rim contact damage during inflation. The onboard lubricator delivers consistent oil-drop lubrication while filtering compressed air, which extends the life of the pneumatic system over time.
The KT-T800 is a practical choice for independent auto repair shops, tire specialty centers, and well-equipped home garages that want a machine capable of handling daily volume without babysitting. If you're changing tires regularly and want a setup that protects rims as well as it performs, this is a machine worth considering.
